Acccounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP)
Hello NABA Members and Friends,
We are very excited to host the Inaugural St. Louis City Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAPĀ®). The ACAP program will be held at our very own historically black college Harris Stowe State University's main campus from July 24, 2011 - July 29, 2011.ACAP is a week-long summer campus residency program where a select group of students have the opportunity to explore careers in accounting and business via a rigorous class and study schedule, college-level content and valuable networking opportunities. ACAP introduces minority high school students to accounting, finance, economics, technology and management while providing the foundation of financial literacy and the development of interpersonal skills.
Its primary objective is to increase the number of high school students from under represented ethnic groups to attend college and major in accounting.
The ACAP program can only be successful with the help of people like yourselves who want to make a positive impact within our community.
Please email melvin.bates@wfadvisors.com if you want to sign up to volunteer and have the opportunity to change the lives of the students that we will connect with through the ACAP program.
Sincerely,
Melvin Bates, ACAP Executive Director
